CNA Federmoda and the Consorzio Moda in Italy bring nineteen Italian brands to Toronto with the project on WeLoveModainItaly Toronto
CNA Federmoda and the fashion consortium Moda in Italy return to approach the Canadian market after the experience achieved in January 2020.
In general, interest in Italian productions is growing on the Canadian market. This also emerged from recent statements by the Italian Ambassador to Canada, Andrea Ferrari, "The excellent state of relations between Italy and Canada acquires even more importance in conjunction this year with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations. 2021 closed with a record trade of 12.9 billion Canadian dollars (about 9.5 billion euros). Italy was the country with the greatest increase in its exports (over 16% on the 2020 figure), exceeding for the first time the 10 billion Canadian dollars in value (about 7.3 billion euros). Made in Italy is increasingly entering the consumption habits of Canadians, who know how to appreciate the quality and beauty of our products. The strength of Italy is that our exports cover a multitude of sectors, almost all in constant growth. If we consider the two-year period characterized by the pandemic (2019-2021), unlike other countries that have even seen a decline in their presence in Canada, Italian exports have recorded a very important and well-distributed increase ".
"After the experience of January 2020, we had already left for the second edition that should have been held in July, before the arrival of the pandemic and subsequently the war in Ukraine forced us to stop. Now we leave again convinced that the candesia market is ripe for our type of company. " says Roberto Corbelli, President of the Consorzio Moda in Italy.
"The ICE offices in Canada are preparing the ground for the success of the CNA Federmoda initiative, with promotional and communication actions aimed at maximizing the presence of professionals and in particular of potential buyers at the two days in Toronto. Opportunities are also foreseen in other Canadian territories that we will be happy to verify, both in the context of the MAECI promotion and with internationalization support services for specific companies or groups of companies ". Marco Saladini - Director of ICE Canada
"In January 2020 we explored the market by preparing a format suitable for the small and medium-sized enterprises we represented - declares Marco Landi, National President of CNA Federmoda - collecting interesting signs of interest in the made in Italy products presented, so much so that we immediately redesigned a second edition of our autonomous event which, however, has not been able to take place until today due to the international problems generated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Today we are ready to return with a project that involves about twenty brands and which also sees the collaboration of the Consorzio Moda in Italy and Centegross. CNA Federmoda has also activated a collaboration with CFIB (Canadian Federation of Independent Business) for the promotion of the event to their associated retailers.
