Confidentiality Notice

This section sets out the site's management systems as adopted by the Moda in Italy Group (a group of fashion manufacturers located in the Emilia-Romagna region) with reference to handling of the personal data of users who access and consult the site.
According to Art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, Personal Data Protection Code (the "Code"), Moda in Italy will make this information available to those who make use of the services offered by this site, accessible via internet at the following address: which is the home page of the website of Moda in Italy– a group of fashion manufacturers located in the Emilia-Romagna region.
This notice also pertains to Recommendation no. 2/2001 which the European authorities on personal data protection, together with the Working Group of Art. 29 of Directive no. 95/46/EC, adopted on the 17th May 2001 to identify certain minimum requirements for the online collection of personal data, and, in particular, the procedures, timeframes and nature of the information the 'data controllers' must supply to users when they connect to a web page, regardless of the purpose of that connection.

The notice applies only to the site indicated above and not to any other websites that may be consulted by the user by means of links.

The holder of the data handling
For the purposes of supplying services the Holder company may handle data relating to physical or legal persons, either identified or identifiable. The Holder of such handling is the Moda in Italy Group, with registered office in Viale Aldo Moro, 22 – 40127 Bologna.

Location of data handling
The handling of which the Group is holder, linked to the web services of this site, takes place at the Holder's address. Such data are handled only by staff assigned with the relevant task, or by any assignees given specific authorisation by the Holder or the person responsible for the handling. No data deriving from the web service may be communicated or distributed. The personal data supplied by users who request information and/or the sending of informative material (price lists, catalogues etc.) are used for the sole purpose of carrying out the service requested and are communicated to third parties only where such action is necessary to fulfil that purpose, in compliance with the specific hypotheses laid down by Art. 25, paragraph 2 of the Code.

Types of data handling
Browsing data
The IT systems and software procedures required for the functioning of this website acquire, in the course of their normal operation, certain personal data, the transmission of which is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. This information is not collected to be linked with identified individuals but due to its very nature may, through processes and matches with data collected by third parties, enable the identification of users. This category includes IP addresses or domain names of computers connecting to the site, plus URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the state of the server's response (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters relating to the user's operating system and IT environment. These data are used with the sole aim of collecting anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check it is functioning correctly. The data may be used to ascertain responsibility in the case of hypothetical IT crimes causing damage to the site.

Personal data provided voluntarily by the user
The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of electronic mail to addresses indicated in this site results in the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, which is necessary in order to respond to requests for information or the supply of services, and any other personal data inserted into the communication. Data supplied in an optional, explicit and voluntary way may be archived by the Holder in paper and/or electronic form exclusively for the purposes set out by this notice.

Cookies will not be used for the transmission of information of a personal nature, nor will so-called persistent cookies of any type or systems for the tracing of users. The use of so-called session cookies (which are not memorised permanently on the user's computer and are erased when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) required to ensure safe and efficient exploration of the site. The so-called session cookies used in this site avoid the need for other computer technologies that could potentially be prejudicial to the confidentiality of users' browsing and do not allow the acquisition of personal data identifying the user.

Optional nature of providing data
Irrespective of the indications given for browsing data collected by the IT system, the user is free to supply personal data entered into request forms to the Holder in order to request information or other communication. Failure to supply such data may render the request impossible. For complete clarification, it must be remembered that in certain cases (not coming under the ordinary operation of the site) the Authority may request notices and information according to Art. 157 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, for the purpose of checking data handling procedures. In such a case a response is obligatory on pain of administrative sanction.

Handling processes
Personal data are treated as an automated and/or paper tool to be used for the purpose for which they were collected. Specific security measures and, in particular, antivirus systems are employed in order to prevent loss of data, its illicit or incorrect use or its access by unauthorised third parties.

Purposes of handling the relevant types of data
The data handled are collected for purposes connected with the activities of Moda in Italy as well as for commercial or promotional purposes or for the marketing of the relevant services offered. The data are also collected and handled for the purposes of clearing and responding to messages received, sending commercial communications relating to Moda in Italy activities, initiatives and events and carrying out studies or statistical and market research on a joint basis.

Rights of interested parties
The subjects to whom the personal data refers have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of such data and to know its content and origin, check its accuracy and request its integration or updating, or its correction according to Art.7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003. In compliance with the same article, the interested parties have the right to request and obtain the deletion, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of any data handled in violation of the law, as well as the right to oppose its handling, in any situation and for legitimate reasons.
